Design, Music, Film: This week’s cultural must-dos
Munich Creative Business Week, Various Others, DOK.fest and Long Night of Music...overwhelmed anyone?
Hi hello hiiii! Not gonna lie, some weeks I really have to dig deep to find a handful of exciting events but this (upcoming) week is buzzzzzzing. Because there is so much interesting stuff happening, today’s edition is fully dedicated to guiding you through the overwhelming program. (If anyone involved in planning these is reading this: why squeeze it all into one week and leave us creatively starved the other 34?)
Anyway, let’s have a quick look at the four big happenings that will turn the city into one giant creative playground before going into the planning.
Munich Creative Business Week
Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) runs from May 10-18 and turns the city into a hub for design and innovation. Under the theme "How to design a vibrant community," this year’s edition explores how design can foster openness, connection, and collaboration. Many of the 200+ events are free and open to all.
Various Others
Various Others (May 8-18) is an annual contemporary art festival in Munich that fosters international collaboration among galleries, artist-run spaces, and institutions. Through joint exhibitions and projects, it offers a platform for cultural exchange and showcases the city's vibrant art scene.
DOK.Fest
DOK.fest München celebrates its 40th anniversary from May 7-18, 2025, showcasing 105 international documentaries across Munich's cinemas. This year's edition features 16 thematic sections, exploring topics such as memory, resistance, migration, and the intersection of humanity and nature.
Long Night of Music
The Long Night of Music takes place on May 10, with live concerts across nearly 100 venues in Munich - from churches to clubs to swimming pools - running from 8 PM to 2 AM. One ticket gets you into everything, and shuttle buses make it easy to hop between venues.
Alrighty, let’s look at the day-by-day highlights.

Hope to see many of you tomorrow at the Aperitivo :)
